The weather on the island of Madeira is characterized by warm and dry summers and mild and rainy winters. Generally speaking, from April to September rainfalls are poor while from October to March rains are abundant.
The warm flows of the Atlantic Ocean surround the island, influencing its climate and avoiding temperatures particularly high or low. Thanks to its mild climate, Madeira is a great destination also on autumn. During this time of the year the island is less crowded with tourists and there are less families around. It is the best time for those who want to enjoy some pace and privacy, not to mention that accommodations are cheaper.
